Aquarium Air Pumps
The thick, rubber base and feet dampen vibrations for smooth, quiet, no-slip
operation and elevate the housing for added electrical insulation and protection from
spilled water. These pumps also feature unique silicone polymer (Silaflex®) flapper
valves. Air pollutants cause standard valves to curl and deteriorate—resulting in
a gradual loss of airflow and pressure. Super resistant polymer valves offer much
longer life and little or no decrease in performance over time.
NOTE: Pumps operate on standard 115 AC current, accept standard tubing and carry a limited 2-year warranty.

Bubble Wall Aerator
Improve aeration, circulation and appearance with this easy-to-install aquarium accessory.
Place it just above gravel level at the rear or side of the aquarium to produce an
attractive “wall” of bubbles. Made of porous tubing that is virtually non-clogging, can be
effectively cleaned, and will outlast every other type of aerator. 10" in length.

FB0264 Bubble Wall Aerator $12.90
Gang Valves
Durable plastic valves offer smooth, precise control of airflow. The fishhook design,
molded plastic hanger securely clamps tubing in place and leads airlines directly
into the aquarium—eliminating tangles. Routing the incoming airline over the top of
the hanger creates an effective anti-siphon—preventing pump-damaging backflow of
water during power failures. Fits standard 1/8" inside diameter airline tubing.

Keep tank temperature relatively constant and in the recommended range. The number
one promoter of fish diseases is temperature stress. By selecting a good quality heater,
appropriately sized for your tank, you will take a big step in the right direction Submersible
heaters—due to better circulation around the element—are the best choice. They also tend
to exhibit smaller fluctuations between on and off cycles—another important factor. Avoid
placing your tank near sources of heat or cold, and keep it out of direct sunlight.
Maintain a regular schedule of water changes. Do a partial water change (roughly onethird
of the total volume) every two weeks. When gravel cleaning, you should also remove
one-third to one-half of the total volume.
Keep filters maintained and working well. This includes everything from gravel cleaning
to checking and replacing airstones to renewing filter cartridges and media (e.g., carbon,
filter floss). Biological, chemical and mechanical filtration must be present to prevent buildup
of toxins, maintain water clarity and remove particulates.
Keep an eye on chemical balance. Water pH is second only to temperature in importance
to the health of your fish. Know the proper pH range for your fish and stay within it.
Check tank pH once a week and any time water is added or exchanged. The vital physiological
processes going on in your fish—including respiration—are depending on you.
