Human Diseases—Pathology Slide Set
Set includes six slides of diseased tissue, three colorful overhead transparencies,
and student worksheets. Students can see how alcohol damages liver cells and how

Grass Frogs, Live
Lithobates (formerly Rana) pipiens, also known as the northern leopard frog. These
distinctive amphibians have brownish-green skin with dark, irregular spots. Frogs
are not sexed. A state permit is required to ship to Utah and Arizona. Not available for
Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Only available November–March.
★MAINTENANCE: Maintain frogs in a mixed “land” and water environment. The frogs should have
access to water just deep enough to submerge themselves completely. To guard against disease and
infection the water must be well filtered and partially exchanged (50%) twice a week. Frogs will thrive
on a diet of crickets, flies, mealworms and earthworms.

Frog Eggs, Live
A frog egg mass with approximately 100 viable eggs. A state permit is required
to ship to Utah. Not available for Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Only available
November–March.
★MAINTENANCE: Being successful in raising tadpoles is mostly dependent upon water quality. The key
to success is clean water. Continually change one-half of the water in the aquarium at least once a week. (Use
fresh aged water—never use distilled water or tap water.) Change the water more often if the water becomes
cloudy and as the tadpoles get larger—at least one pint of water per tadpole. Aerate the water if possible. Do
not feed tadpoles until mouth parts have developed—they have a built-in food source in the yolk sac. When
they develop legs, they will need an object for crawling out of the water—floating logs, rock out-croppings, etc.

Goldfish
★MAINTENANCE: Goldfish thrive in water temperatures between 65° F and 75° F. Goldfish should
eat high-quality dry flake food. They also enjoy live food such as brine shrimp, but that should only be
given on occasion. Feed fish only what they can eat in five minutes. Obesity is the most common cause
of death in goldfish.
