Microcentrifuge Tubes
High-quality, autoclavable polypropylene “reaction” tubes. The snug-fitting shieldshape
hinged caps are readily manipulated with one hand, yet will stay closed during
use. Added thickness at tubes’ conical bottoms prevents failure and leakage. The
standard 1.5-mL (10.6 x 39.5 mm) tubes have frosted writing areas. Available in three
colors in dispenser boxes of 500.

Glass Demonstration Tube
Colorful demonstrations of acids and bases,
pH, indicators, and the solubility of gases can
be displayed for the whole class to see. The formation of a solid from the diffusion
of vapors can be easily seen. Even equilibrium can be explored in the tube. The
24"-long clear flint glass tube has an outer diameter of 14 mm. The tube’s heavy wall
thickness provides rigidity and reduces breakage. Two rubber stoppers are provided.
Instructions with sample demonstration included.

Centrifuge Tubes
Very frequently the cause of centrifuge tube breakage is tiny glass shards.
These shards are em bedded in the rubber cushions at the very bottom of
the shield that accommodates the centrifuge tube in the centrifuge head. A
tiny pinpoint of glass sets up a stress point on the tube and breakage easily
occurs. Check your centrifuge tube cushions and replace them if glass shards
are present. If a tube breaks while the centrifuge is operating, that may signal
the time to replace the cushion.
