Use this versatile double-walled calorimeter with or without the electric heating
element. With the heating element students can determine the electrical
equivalent of heat or use the calorimeter without the heating element as a standard
double-walled calorimeter. The spring heating element operates on 0–6 V DC and
approximately 2–3.5 W. The 1.7-cm thick polystyrene lining, plastic insulator ring and
aluminum heat reservoir are designed to control heat loss. Reservoir has 150-mL
capacity and has a built-in thermometer cork. Size: 10.5 cm diameter x 10 cm high.

Calorimeter Resistor
Used to measure the amount of heat generated by an electrical circuit. Includes
instructions for measuring the heat generated in the circuit and step-by-step
equations for calculating the electrical equivalent of heat (1 cal = 4.186 J). To
perform the experiment, the calorimeter resistor is placed in the aneroid calorimeter
(AP9160) and set up in a circuit. You will also need a 6-volt power supply
or battery, ammeter, voltmeter, connecting wires, thermometer, stopwatch and
balance. Diagram for setup included.
