Jeff Finley As Bishop Linda Adams writes, “God works in our lives through moments of crisis, which
could be ‘mountaintop experiences’ or times of crisis in the normal sense of that word — loss,
hardships, doubts — which are embedded in a lifelong process. By God’s grace, we grow more
and more into the likeness of Christ.” How have you seen God work in times of crisis in your life
and in the lives of other people? How do you see God working in the current crises of our world?

Love that!
Milton Indy Goodwin There are literally hundreds of stories of which I am barely able to retain! I
have known healings from tragedies and near death crashes. I have known the miracles of finances
restored and homes made new. This is no small life that He has set before this insignificant man. This
is a life rich in His love and mercy. Even cycling down to His boundless mercy there are great stories.
There is one that shines out forever carved in my flesh. Its scars changed my body forever. But He
showed me how far He would go to preserve my life for His use. In 1979 I was working in a refinery
having been released to secular service by the Wabash Conference of the FMC. I was an instrument
tech and working on the side of a brick building. We had to remove some very valuable instruments
so the building could be repurposed. My partner and I were about two-thirds finished when we saw
a huge green cloud. In a refinery, you should only see white clouds as they represent steam; any
other cloud color could be death. We both moved quickly without hesitation. He went down his
side. I jumped down mine. The cloud moved very fast and soon engulfed me. Then it found ignition
and exploded in a ball of orange flames. I was picked up and tossed quite a long way — maybe a
couple hundred feet. It was like being inside a furnace. All these years later I am left with the scars
on my arms and a beautifully God-healed ear. My lungs still sing for Him and utter words of hope for
Him. There were four men killed but I was closer! Three buildings were destroyed, but I was in the
open. The Lord saved me. I was a hardcore sold-out Christian working in a secular job, but He saved
me. I am experiencing life here, and His Holy presence is always opening doors. He healed my body
in ways that testified to the medical staff His glory. He preserved my voice so that I could still sing,
and that very year I went to the regional New York Met auditions and was deemed outstanding. This
was months after literally breathing fire.
