CCSD’s School Nutrition

River Ridge High School
earned a record-setting

CCSD again earned

Indian Knoll ES and
Macedonia ES both won
the prestigious School Bell
Award from the Georgia
Association of Elementary
School Principals. The
Association presents the
School Bell Award to no
more than 10 schools in
Georgia each year in recognition
of outstanding
curriculum and organizational
leadership initiatives.
Clark Creek ES STEM
Academy was named a
2021 Georgia Title I Distinguished
School. The
prestigious recognition is
awarded only to the top 5%
of Title I schools in the
State, based on its students’
academic success and
progress.
Oak Grove ES STEAM
Academy earned State
STEAM Certification for its
arts-infused STEM program,
the first school in
Cherokee County to earn
the designation.
Annual Chick-fil-A 5K to Benefit CCEF
and Special Olympics Scheduled for
August 13 at Etowah River Park
Saturday, Aug. 13th, the Etowah River Park will be
alive with excitement as our community turns out for its
largest ever support of the Annual Chick-fil-A 5K Road
Race event! More than 1,500 runners will arrive early to
enjoy some fresh air and exercise put on by all Cherokee
County Chick-fil-A locations.
The event benefits both the Cherokee County Educational
Foundation and the Cherokee County Special
Olympics.
The race is presented each year by Keith Booth,
operator of the CFA at the Outlet Shoppes, Scott Hall, of
Towne Lake CFA, Ron Hammock of Truett’s CFA Woodstock,
and Kevin Williams of Hickory Flat, Market Place
and Riverstone CFA along with their marketing teams and
staff.
All race registrants will be treated to CFA chicken
biscuits, and the race sponsors will provide water, fresh
fruit, granola bars and goodies for everyone in attendance.
There will be music, face-painting, and tons of
family fun. Children and strollers are welcome!
