The accreditation

This past school year,
CCSD saw strong participation
in its Career Pathway
programs, with more than
7,000 students taking at
least one Pathway class.
Pathways offer high school
students the opportunity to
participate in accelerating
classes for a specific career
field and earn industry
certification.
CCSD’s traditional high
schools offer 37 different
Career Pathways, ranging
from automotive maintenance
and repair to healthcare
services to computer
science, with details about

careers. Among the
most popular industry
certifications are numerous
Microsoft opportunities,
healthcare certifications
like certified nursing
assistant and welding
certifications.
New for this school
year, the welding program
– which has prepared
numerous Cherokee High
School graduates for
successful careers, will
expand to a second campus
at Creekview High School.
Through a partnership with
Chattahoochee Technical
College, the classes will be
taught by a college instructor
at the high school
campus and offer students
the opportunity to earn
basic shielded arc welding
industry certification.
