Mr. Rechsteiner is elected
by District 4, which includes
Etowah High School
and southwest Cherokee.
All three of his sons are
CCSD graduates.
Kelly Poole of Bridge-
Mill, who is elected by
District 1 which also includes
Holly Springs and
the Sixes community, is a
bookkeeper with experience
in nonprofits and their
audits and joined the
School Board in 2015 to
expand upon her longtime
service to local schools
through the PTA. Her
daughter and son are CCSD
graduates.
Patsy Jordan of the
Yellow Creek community
has been a part of CCSD all
of her life and career, which
included serving as a school
custodian, school bus
driver and teacher, for
which she earned the honor
of Teacher of the Year.
After retiring, Ms. Jordan
continued to serve by
joining the School Board in
2012. She is elected by
District 2, which includes
Creekview High School and
all of northeast Cherokee.
John Harmon built
upon his service to youth
through coaching baseball
and basketball and serving
on the Hickory Flat ES
School Council by joining
the School Board in 2014.
A Hickory Flat businessman,
Mr. Harmon is
elected by District 3 that
includes River Ridge High
School, Sequoyah High
School and all of southeast
Cherokee. He and his wife
share five children, and
three are CCSD students.
A certified public
accountant, Clark Menard
of Woodstock joined the
School Board in 2015 after
serving as youth sports
coach and PTA volunteer.
He is elected by District 4,
which includes Woodstock
High School, Towne Lake
and downtown Woodstock.
Both of his daughters are
CCSD graduates. Mr.
Menard’s term will end in
December, as he did not
seek re-election.
Mike Chapman of
Canton has been elected to
serve on the School Board
for more than 18 years,
including four as its chair.
Mr. Chapman, who serves
as an executive for Morrison
Products, is elected by
District 6 which includes
Cherokee High School,
downtown Canton and
northwest Cherokee. He is
married to a retired CCSD
teacher and both of their
sons are CCSD graduates.
Mr. Chapman’s term will
end in December, as he did
not seek re-election.
Among the School
Board’s numerous achievements
are three consecutive
governance honors
through the Georgia School
Boards Association’s Board
Recognition Program. The
Board Recognition Program
requires a high level
of commitment from school
boards and individual
members. The ultimate
goal is to provide a platform,
based on governance
