DOBBS
SUMMER 2022 | LAKE OCONEE LIVING 63
It’s been said that if you love what you
do, you’ll never work a day in your life.
is couldn’t ring more true for Dobbs,
a 4-year-old rescue, if he were able to
say it himself.
His workplace is a dream come true.
His mom and dad happen to be the
owners of Main Street Vet in Madison,
Jamie Williams and Dr. James Williams.
He shares an oce with Jamie in the
front of the clinic’s new resort-style
boarding facility, e Lodge, where
he watches friends come and go for
daycare, a fresh grooming, or a training
session.
ough there are plenty of opportunities
to play and socialize inside and out
at e Lodge, he prefers to be right by
his mom’s side. “He goes everywhere
with me,” says Williams. “He travels
with me, he runs with me, he’s just
happy to be with me.”
His main job requirement is simply
to love, and for Dobbs, that’s no work
at all.
“We talk a lot about ‘perfect love’
around here,” says Williams. “at
perfect love is from Dobbs. It doesn’t
boast, it doesn’t expect anything, it
doesn’t keep score – that’s him.”
e
mission of
e Lodge’s sta
is to reciprocate this
perfect love that dogs give so freely to
all of their furry guests. Williams says
they built e Lodge to be a happy and
safe space for those pets who may not
be able to go into the oce every day
with their human.
“If people can take their dogs to work,
I think it’s good for people and good for
dogs,” says Williams. “If they can’t take
their dogs to work, that’s what we’re
here for.”
