e group has grown to 250
members from 15 dierent
states since it was founded in
2013. Volunteers within the
club organize a “rally” each
month where members meet
up at various locations for a
few days of fun, fellowship and
adventure.
It was the “Stews and Brews”
rally that brought them to
Greensboro, just in time to
celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
e night before they had
gathered for an Irish potluck
dinner at A.H. Stephens State
Park, just down the road in
Crawfordville, where the
group was camping for the
rally. Jill and Alan Raab, of
Lake Oconee, and Denise
and Ron Sims, of Athens,
organized the event – from
the happy hour welcome on
Wednesday to the Irish coee
send o on Sunday – and coordinated
all the lucky green
festivities in between.
“It’s just a lot of fun,” says
Jill Raab. “We all take turns
hosting and coming up with
activities and it’s always something
new and interesting.”
Before stopping at the brewery,
the group had lunch at

than 12,000 members across the globe. Locally,
travelers join together in regional clubs like the
Southeastern Camping Unit, which recently held a
rally at A.H. Stephens State Park in Crawfordville
