From the father of the groom,
Barry Lancaster:
Sam Lancaster and Taylor Wilson are both from Marietta.
Sam is a graduate of Marietta High School and Taylor is a
graduate of Sprayberry High School. Both families are from the
Marietta area, so the bride and groom wanted everything done
locally. The engagement took place at The Battery because both
are huge Braves fans. The engagement party was at Loco Willy’s
in Marietta, where the two met. The rehearsal dinner was at
Two Birds Taphouse on the Marietta Square. For the wedding,
the couple compiled a list of their closest 300 friends to attend.
They wanted it to be a celebration party of their “tying the knot,”
and that’s exactly what they did. The reception was an open bar
with an amazing array of food choices buffet style catered by the
Marietta Conference Center. Music was provided by local band
favorite, Coast Guard. The couple honeymooned in the
Dominican Republic.

From the bride:
My husband, Hugh, and I both grew up just around the corner
from each other in Cobb County. We didn’t know each other at the
time, but we went to competing high schools and later attended
college at the University of Georgia. As fate would have it, we didn’t
meet each other until after college, in 2016, when we were both
living in Atlanta and met through mutual friends. Both of our
parents still live in the homes we grew up in, 3 miles down the road
from each other. Our connection was instant, and we quickly
realized how much we had in common- love of adventure and the
outdoors, the importance of our faith, and our love for our families
and friends. Our wedding day was a beautiful day with perfect
weather and we treasured having our family and friends by our side.
There were several personal touches to our wedding that made it
special. We have very talented friends that contributed by creating
the invitations and floral arrangements, singing in the ceremony,
and making our wedding cake. Our getaway car was my husband’s
handiwork: his 1984 Toyota Van that he has spent a couple of years
mechanically restoring and has turned into a camper van!
