Everyone loves a love story
We received too many wedding submissions to feature, but here are some of the stories
and photos that were too sweet not to share. Grab a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine works, too!)

From the bride:
We were scheduled to get married on March 28, but due to
the coronavirus, had to postpone to Sept. 5. We thought about
different dates we could get married and discovered the perfect
wedding date! My birthday Oct. 3 and Branden’s is Feb. 26, so
it was a perfect match up for 3/26/20. I called a former patient
of mine, who is a pastor, the night before and he agreed to a
social distancing wedding in his backyard in Dallas, Georgia.
We Zoom meeting called our immediate family and maid of
honor during the 10-minute ceremony. I got off work in
Marietta at 5 and we got married at 6, had our own reception
at our home in Powder Springs, and had the perfect day to tie
the knot. We are now looking forward to celebrating with our
family and friends and doing it again in September!

John Robert &
Hannah Chalker Goodin
July 28, 2018 - St. Simons Island
Photographer: Eliza Kennard Photography
From the bride:
John and I have been best friends since we were 14 and 15
years old. We had an instant connection after being introduced
by our siblings while attending Lassiter High School. There was
a point when he tried to “ask me out,” but I quickly shut him
down stating, “I couldn’t ruin our friendship.” All of our friends
used to tease us endlessly about it. The teasing got so bad that I
finally made a pact, with my now husband, to marry him at the
“old” age of 30 if we were both still single.
It wasn’t until work brought me back home to Cobb County
in 2013 that I saw things much more clearly. He was everything I
had ever searched and prayed for, and he was right in front of
me the whole time. I’m a sports broadcaster, so my job takes me
all over the Southeast, and I moved to Alabama in 2014. We
ended up dating for four years long distance. Finally, when I was
29 and he was 30, John proposed to me at his family lake house
on Lake Hartwell and I have never been more surprised! His
entire family was there and somehow even my sisters kept quiet
and they came, too. My parents have a house on St. Simons
Island and I’ve always dreamed of getting married there. So, on
July 28, 2018, we did just that at the King and Prince Beach &
Golf Resort. I was at the “old” age of 30, John was 31. Sometimes
you can’t fight fate. We just bought our first house in Smyrna...
looks like we won’t be leaving Cobb County anytime soon!
