Sister, Sister Good things come in threes for these sisters

14 COBB LIFE | MAY 2020
From Mary Kate Keappler Mason:
Even though traditional love stories are fun, I
think a love story with sisters is just as good!
My sister and I were born just short of three
years apart. We graduated from The Walker School in
Cobb County three years apart. Then, we graduated from
Ole Miss three years apart. After both attending different
graduate schools, we moved back to Cobb County and
lived three apartment buildings apart. Our lives have had
seasons where we have drifted apart and back together, but
last year, we shared the duties of a best friend, sister,
advocate, wedding planner and opinion-giver.
Three seems to be our magic number. In 2019, we got
married (much to the chagrin of our father’s bank
account) three months apart. We were each other’s maids
of honor and planned engagement parties, bachelorette
parties and showers for each other. Even though our lives
seem to have followed similar paths (we’re both even
married to former military members), our weddings could
not have been more different!
My sister, Margaret Elizabeth Keappler, and Reid Robert
Bass got married at The Whitlock Inn, less than a mile
down the street from my parent’s house, with about 75
guests on June 1, 2019. Her photographer was George
Street. Maggie’s wedding colors were champagne, green
and cool purples, some of their favorite late-night foods
like bourbon chicken and mac and cheese made up their
buffet and lanterns made the evening feel like a
midsummer night’s dream.
I married William Ryan Mason at Montaluce Winery in
Dahlonega with 100 guests on September 13, 2019. Our
photographer was Brandi Sisson. My wedding featured
loose greenery and shades of pink and wine. Guests
enjoyed a gigantic charcuterie during cocktail hour as the
sun was setting over the vineyard. We bought our first
house in Marietta a year ago, and call Marietta home.
