From the bride:
It all began back in 2016. I was three weeks out from a friend’s
wedding and dateless. I was determined to have a “smokin’ hot date,”
because I was not going alone! With only three weeks to go, I was in
panic mode, so I talked to my friend Kaitlyn who suggested I set up
an online dating app. I quickly shot her idea down because I was
determined to magically run into someone on the street. So, another
week went by, and I still did not have a date. We finally decided that
she could create the profile in my name but that I would have nothing
to do with it. She would have to manage it. Swiping right meant you
wanted to talk to them, so Kaitlyn started swiping away and it didn’t
take her long to match me with Taylor.
Just because we had a match didn’t mean I was going to talk to
anyone. But she took my phone and typed, “Hey Taylor!” I talked to
Taylor all night on this app. The next day, we exchanged phone
numbers and talked a little more. Little did I know, this “just a
wedding date” was going to be my husband one day!
The following weekend, Taylor invited me to his baseball game at
Big Shanty. I, of course, took a screen shot of the invite and sent it to
Kaitlyn. She drove to my house and forced me into her car, and we
went on a date to the baseball field. I started talking to myself saying
things like, “What have I done? I don’t know this guy, my parents are
going to kill me! Wait, what if he kills me first?” Kaitlyn pulled me
out of the car, we walked to the field, pulled out a picture of Taylor
and started searching for him. We spotted him and I ran to the
bathroom! I wanted to go home. This was a terrible idea. Kaitlyn
grabbed me and pulled me to the bleachers in front of his dugout. It
wasn’t long before I finally met Taylor. He was perfect! Good looking,
sweet, loved dogs, athletic and had a full beard! What more could I
have wanted in a “wedding date?” That was just the beginning of our
forever. We have been inseparable ever since. I guess he “wasn’t just
a wedding date” but my forever wedding date!
There were no questions as to where we would have our wedding
ceremony and reception. Cobb County is so close to our hearts.
Taylor and I both grew up in Cobb. Taylor went to Harrison High
School and I went to Kennesaw Mountain High School. I have been
a member of Marietta First United Methodist Church my entire life
and have grown up going to multiple events and Fourth of July
celebrations at the Whitlock Inn. Owens Flowers is also special to
me. They made every corsage and boutonnière for every homecoming
and prom dance I attended. I also knew I had to have a special
photographer from my home town. Johnny Walker has been taking
photos of me and my family most of my life. He did a wonderful job

capturing our special day. Dr. Sam Mathews came back from
retirement to marry us, along with current pastor Dr. Julie Boone.
After our ceremony, we walked over to the Whitlock in for our
reception. We enjoyed Corn hole, cocktail hour, dancing and dinner
provided by Carriage House Catering. My brother, Zach Seabaugh,
was on “The Voice” and sang as we lite the unity candle in the church,
but I knew the night wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t surprise my
dad, Devan, so Zach prepared and sang a wonderful version of
“Daddy Dance With Me” for our daddy-daughter dance. It was a
special moment for everyone.
We continue to live in Cobb and love serving our community.
