WLove story from the bride: hen a friend first asked me about possibly being set up on a date for a
fraternity mountain weekend with Kandon (a stranger to me at the
time), I said, “No thanks.” My first reaction to spontaneous things in
general tends to be no! Thankfully, we were driving back to Athens
from Milledgeville and my friend’s car ran out of gas. After a few
hours of chatting while waiting on a friend to bring us gas, I agreed that I would go after all.
It’s still so strange to me how from the moment I first met Kandon, I felt so comfortable just
being myself around him. I also have a pretty awful memory, but I remember the night we
met so clearly. We met on Thursday, September 12, 2013. Kandon was wearing a turquoise
blue shirt and we talked in the kitchen for a while. I found out we’d grown up about ten
minutes from each other (I’m from Marietta and Kandon’s from Kennesaw). We spent that
weekend together with our friends in the mountains, and we have talked every single day
since then. My friends still joke about seeing me come back from that mountain weekend:
apparently, they could tell right away that something big had happened in my universe.

Cobb County’s Newest
Elegant/ Industrial
Wedding and Event Venue!
Wedding story: Our wedding weekend started off with a
very special night gathered at the
Marietta Educational Garden Center.
Our friends and family made us feel so
celebrated with thoughtful toasts of
stories through the years together and encouragement for
what was to come. When we first asked my parents if they
would be willing to host our wedding in their backyard,
knowing that would mean taking on way more work and
responsibility than a normal venue, they didn’t even
hesitate. My parents’ home was already beautiful, but they
took on this wedding like a passion project and they
worked for months to create the most special, beautiful
setting we could have ever dreamed of. On our wedding
day, my dad was still out doing last-minute yard work and
my mom was still crafting every little detail.
