Dixon is gearing up for the holiday season. The town is filling up with new
businesses, and Dixon Chamber of Commerce & Main Street cannot be
happier! DCCMS has worked hard this year to produce high quality largescale

events, along with the other services we provide. Now, at the end of the
year, there are only two events left!
Dixon will be participating in the nationwide #Shopsmall Saturday movement
which is sponsored by American Express on November 24th. Stop by
the Dixon Welcome Center at 87 S. Hennepin Ave for a Shop Small kickoff
event. Between 9:00 and 10:00 AM the public is invited to play Pop & Shop
for a chance to win great deals from Dixon’s small businesses. Keep a lookout
on the Dixon Chamber & Main Street Facebook page for additional details,
including participating businesses.
On Friday, December 7th from 6:00 – 9:00 PM Dixon’s 1st Street will
transform into a winter wonderland for the 30th Annual Downtown Dixon
Christmas Walk. Christmas Walk is a celebrated tradition in Dixon. The
Downtown will come alive with Christmas caroler’s, horse-drawn carriages,
handmade ice sculptures, hot cider, and fresh apple cider donuts. Beginning
at KSB with the lighting of the tree, we invited you to stroll through the
historic district for an evening of fun and shopping. The Dixon Chamber
& Main Street Facebook page will be updated as December approaches so
make sure to “Like” it!
Looking towards 2019 Dixon Chamber of Commerce & Main Street will
be hosting the annual Best of Dixon awards night. This night celebrates all
of those who have worked diligently to make Dixon a great community to
live, work, and play in. Alongside those being awarded for Citizen of the
Year and the 4 Under 40, DCCMS will reveal the recipients of the Second
Annual Dixon Tourism Grant. The grant assists businesses and organizations
to showcase Dixon as a tourism destination through projects, events, and
initiatives. Applications for the Tourism Grant are now available on the DiscoverDixon.

Dixon Chamber of Commerce & Main Street isn’t just about hosting great
events. DCCMS has also been conducting a survey to collect input from
community members and visitors. The survey is intended to gain insight into
what the public wants to see developed further in the community. The survey
is open to everyone and takes no more than 5 minutes. There are write-in surveys
available at the Dixon Welcome Center at 87 South Hennepin Ave. An
