Lowe’s love him and when we go out to eat or
to some of the breweries, I’ll have people come
up that recognize him because they follow him
on Instragram and they’ll ask to get a picture
with him.” (Check out @blackdog_diesel if
you’re curious.)
At 145 pounds with a massive head that
Vaden says is approaching basketball size,
Diesel may look terrifying. But looks can be
deceiving. His laid-back and gentle nature confirms
what Vaden knows; he’s “just a big baby.”
“The cool thing about these guys, if they’re
bred right, they’re kind of like a lab without
the energy,” explains Vaden. “He loves to play,
don’t get me wrong, but he gets tired easily. He
loves to chase a ball, he’s just not that agile.”
Sometimes, he says, he might even bring back
four balls at a time, stuffed inside his “chipmunk
cheeks.”
Diesel is at the shop every day, usually relaxing
on the cool, concrete floors. He fits right
in among the formidable Humvees and seems
to know he’s just as unusual and cool as the
vehicles.
“I always joke with people and say it’s really
his business, we just work for him,” says Vaden.
