have been
hip to fancy
sparkling
water for
decades,
but in recent years, America has co-opted
the bubbly beverage, adding a spiked
twist that has become a sensational
trend sweeping the nation: the phenomenon
of hard seltzer.
White Claw, a pioneer company for
hard seltzer, has soared in popularity,
inspiring countless spinoff products
from large chains to small mom-and-pop
shops across the country. In 2016, White
Claw’s sales soared to triple digits and in
2020, White Claw outsold beer for the
first time.
This meteoric rise has shown seltzer is
here to stay, both worldwide and in our
own backyard. In downtown Greensboro,
Oconee Brewing Co. has recently
jumped aboard the bubbly bandwagon,
unveiling their own line of hard seltzer
beverages, Dog Days of Seltzer, to rave
reviews.
Patron Jeanne Ashley of Greensboro
says she recently tried the Oconee Brewing
Company’s blackberry seltzer and
became an instant fan. “The first time I
