Sharon Mason
President & CEO |20 Cobb Chamber of Commerce IN THEIR 40s
AGE 40
What do you do in your role?
My role is to work closely with our Board of Directors and chamber team to
advance and stimulate a vibrant and thriving Cobb economy.
What drives you to be successful?
I deeply love our community and want to see it and our amazing citizens
continue to be successful. Helping companies start, grow to their next level or
add new jobs is especially rewarding as I know this will have a major impact not
only on their families but our entire economy.
What are some of your hobbies outside of work? I enjoy hiking
with my family on the many beautiful trails in Cobb and our surrounding area. I
also love watching my daughter play softball and husband coach her.
What lessons have you learned in 2020? Wow, 2020 has been quite
the year for lessons, hasn’t it?! Where do I start? It is important that no matter
how old we are or what stage we are in, that we are constantly learning and
growing. I have learned so much this year and greatly value these lessons:
• Even more the importance of community and banning together to
overcome challenges
• The need to make the most of each moment, not knowing when your last
will be or when it might look differently
• The need to pivot, innovate and be a problem-solver in all areas
• Above all, our God is Sovereign and my prayer life and faith in him is
critically important
• That moments with friends are to be treasured and not taken for granted
• To truly appreciate the amazing community we live in that has had a
#TogetherWeCan attitude to ban together in a major way
Other anecdotes, quotes or insights: To whom much is given, much is
required. Each day is a gift and blessing, so be a blessing to others every
opportunity you get. Bloom where you are planted and seek each moment to
bless others.
