What do you do in your role?
As director of the CID, I work collaboratively with local, state
and federal partners to invest the tax funds invested by
commercial property owners in the Town Center area to deliver
infrastructure projects and place-making initiatives that
enhance property values and the overall quality of life for the
Town Center community.
What drives you to be successful? Passion. Over the
years, I have learned to channel my passions into civic and
professional endeavors that are also personally rewarding. If
you don’t love what you’re doing, it can certainly make any
task a challenge. As a life-long resident of Cobb, I have a deep
commitment to making our community the very best place
possible to live, work and play. Our community is truly like no
other because of the passion of the people who live and work
here. The relationships I have cultivated over the years have
not only led to incredible friendships, but partnerships that
have successfully fostered tremendous change and positive
growth that has had a lasting impact.
What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
For those who know me, it’s no secret we love to deep sea
fish. Being on the water in the Florida Keys is where my heart
is the happiest. In non-COVID times, I love to travel and
experience new places. I also love to cook and explore wines
from our adventures, with a particular love for anything Italian.
What lessons have you learned in 2020? Patience.
Flexibility. Grace. Always buy the Clorox wipes when you find
them in stock. How to embrace my introverted side. Time with
family and friends is incredibly precious. I really miss hugs.
Other personal anecdotes, quotes or insights: I love this
quote from Leonard Cohen’s Anthem and I think it rings
especially true for this year: “Ring the bells that still can ring;
Forget your perfect offering; There is a crack in everything;
That’s how the light gets in.”
