Mad Hatter Tea Party
Don your favorite hat and join in a spot of
tea and dainty nibbles. Join in some arts
and crafts to decorate your hat in the spirit
of Jane Austen. You provide the hat. The
museum will provide the supplies. All Mad
Hatters will vote for the best hat. The winner
will take home a Spirit Tree baseball
cap. Reservations required.

DIY Rain Barrel Workshop
Make your own rain barrel, and you’ll
save more than water. The Nature Center
supplies the barrel, parts, and tools and
will show you how to construct a closed,
55-gallon rain barrel system that can be
attached to any standard downspout.
Workshop fee, including barrel and parts,
is $60. Space is limited and registration
is required by May 6. For registration

The Canoe Club and the
Habitat of Shaker’s Lower Lake
John Barber and Peggy Spaeth will present
an illustrated talk on a habitat restoration
project undertaken at Lower Lake in the
Shaker Parklands. Early in the project,
volunteers excavated the remains of
the Shaker Lakes Canoe Club building
and uncovered not only the original
foundation, but also a great deal of history
about boating life on Lower Lake in the
early to mid-20th century.

ceremony. To participate in the parade,
