This photo was taken circa 1956 at the end
of Broad Street looking toward the bridge now
known as the Robert Redden Footbridge. The gas
station on the left is where River Dog Outpost is
today. The tracks that crossed Broad Street were
owned by the Central of Georgia Railway and
served as their mainline between Chattanooga
and Griffin.
This photo shows the north end of Broad
Street at 8th Avenue, looking north. This
was long before Turner McCall Boulevard
existed.
