We love you. We see you.
On June 1, a group protesting police brutality, racism and the deaths of black men and women at
the hands of police officers held a peaceful march in Marietta, ending in a rally on the Marietta
Square. Along their route, a woman pulled over and began crying, saying: “I’m so tired.” Those
marching reached in to comfort her and responded by chanting: “We love you. We see you.” The protest
was one of many held earlier this summer across America, sparked by the death of George Floyd.
