forms, apply for jobs and housing, and
accomplish other activities requiring
access to the internet.
Library staff offer free computer
training for all skill levels. Get started
by attending the basic, interactive
classes and then move on to learn how
to create an email account or format a
Word document.
Those who prefer individual
time with a trainer can schedule a
45-minute, one-on-one appointment
with Technology Experience Specialist
Mackenna Dasco and learn how to set
up an email account; improve skills
with Microsoft Office or Google Drive;
or get answers about using the Library’s
Creation Space equipment. Individual
training on how to download eBooks
or use the Library’s resources and
equipment are other helpful sessions.
To check out computer class offerings
or to register online for an individual
session, go to the Library’s home page at
shakerlibary.org.
Those with basic digital literacy
skills will find online tutorials both
helpful and convenient. Northstar
Digital Literacy is a new self-directed
online tool for those who want to
improve their technical skills. There
are even classes on Social Media and
Your Digital Footprint. Another helpful
online tutorial offered through the
Library is LinkedIn Learning, which
offers classes from photography to
project management and computer
programming to animation.
Whatever your skill level or learning
style, the Library has the tools and the
teachers to help you connect.
