As spring brings warmer weather, beautiful flowers and yes,
lots of pollen, it also brings with it a sense of renewal.
Spring is the time when a lot of Rome and Floyd County
residents get outside and work in their yard or star t exercising
by walking, riding or running on our trails.
And it’s also the time when many
couples plan their weddings.
Our spring issue of Rome Life is
always filled with beautiful photos
of weddings. And this one doesn’t
disappoint.
We’ve selected nine weddings
that capture the imagination and
we hope might inspire your special
day.
From grand church weddings to
simple and sweet outdoor events,
we’ve tried to offer a range of
ideas. All our couples are local or have local ties and it’s
remarkable to see the creativity and imagination that each has
used to make their special day just a little unique.
That’s the wonderful thing about our community - the
differences. So as you look at the photos from these weddings,
keep in mind that each comes with its unique challenges,
dreams and budgets. But they’re all wonderful in their own way.
But weddings aren’t the only focus of this issue.
We have some wonderful features to offer as well. “Life after
the salt flats” takes us on a journey of speed and a love of
racing.
“Invest in your skin” is a look at local business Dermaculture
of Rome and all the services they provide to locals on skin
care and pampering yourself.
A new coffee shop opened on Broad Street recently called
“The Sharp Sickle.” It provides a variety of beverages and
baked goods but with a message of love, hope and God’s
grace.
We always try to include a travel feature for those who dream
of far away destinations. This issue takes us to the enchanting
Caribbean island of Bonaire where Coosa Middle literacy
coach Shannon Pollitz experienced rich marine life, lizards,
wild donkeys and birds within its immense Washington Slagbaai
National Park, marked by beaches, lagoons, caverns and
deser t-like hills.
As always, we hope that the stories and images you find in
the pages of Rome Life Magazine will enter tain and inspire
you. These are stories from your community. These are your
neighbors and your friends.
Please enjoy this issue of Rome Life and we hope you have a
wonderful spring.
