George Clark Appointed
Interim Principal at Lomond
George F. Clark has been appointed
interim principal at Lomond Elementary
School for the 2019-2020 school year.
Clark, an assistant principal at the
High School since 2017, has strong ties
to the Shaker community. He is a Sussex
resident and the parent of two Shaker
students. His wife, Kiana, is a Shaker
Heights High School graduate.
Clark is a well-rounded administrator
and educator whose experience includes
providing strong academic and socialemotional
supports for all students. Prior
to his role at Shaker Heights High School,
Clark worked as an intervention specialist
serving students with learning disabilities
and cognitive delays. He also served as an
assistant athletic director.
Clark holds a bachelor’s degree in
education from the University of Toledo
and a master’s degree in educational
administration and supervision from
Bowling Green State University.

Jeffrey Grosse Named
Chief Operating Officer
Jeffrey A. Grosse has been named chief operating
officer at Shaker Heights Schools. He will be
responsible for leading and collaborating with all
District operations staff, which includes security, building
and grounds maintenance, custodial services, food service,
purchasing, transportation, and warehousing. Grosse also will advise on longterm
facilities planning.
Grosse has more than 25 years of administrative experience at Berea City
Schools, where he most recently served as an assistant superintendent/director
of Business Services. In that role, he was responsible for oversight of a $112.5
million budget to renovate a middle school and to build a new elementary school
and high school. Grosse is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College, where he earned
a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education and a master’s degree in
Supervision and Administration.
Tiara Sargeant Named Advisor
of Shaker Heights High School
Student Group on Race Relations
Tiara Sargeant, a 2014 graduate of Shaker Heights
High School, has returned to the District to serve as
the advisor to the High School’s Student Group on Race
Relations (SGORR). SGORR, founded in 1983, seeks to preserve
black-white relationships throughout middle school and high school by facilitating
discussions among students in Grades 4-9 using a diversity education curriculum.
Sargeant was an active member of SGORR and MAC Sister Scholars while
she was a student at Shaker Heights High School. In her senior year, Sargeant
won the Princeton Prize on Race Relations, a prestigious award which recognizes
and rewards high school students who have had a significant positive impact
through volunteerism on race relations in their schools or communities.
Sargeant is a 2018 graduate of Hampton University, where she earned a
bachelor’s degree in strategic communication.
