“I began shooting Olympic recurve
archery when I was 7 years old in
the JOAD program at Gold n’ Grain
Archery. I was fortunate to have great
support from my parents and everyone
at McCullough’s Gold n’ Grain Archery.
Throughout my competitive career, I was
able to meet most of my goals, including:
10-time National Junior Champion, 2008
Senior Outdoor National Champion,
and competing internationally on three
Junior World Teams. I was a member of the U.S. Archery Team
from 2005-2012, and have represented the United States in various
world events. I am thankful for the opportunity I had to train at the
U.S. Olympic Training Center as a resident athlete from 2006-2008.
My passion for archery extends beyond the competitive field to
the woods as a serious bowhunter chasing whitetails and turkeys.
I enjoy being able to help people, and share all aspects of archery
with others. I joined the Lancaster Archery staff in January of 2013,
following graduation from Penn State University with a degree in
Business Management.”

“I have had an affinity for bows since I
was a little girl when both my parents
archery hunted. I now regret not getting
into this amazing sport sooner. Working
here at Lancaster Archery has given
me the opportunity to learn more about
archery in all its forms. Since staring
here in 2017, I have begun shooting
my Olympic recurve bow competitively
in several tournaments and leagues. I
have even gone for my first bowhunting
season just this year with a compound bow. I continue to learn new
things to apply to my shooting and hunting and am looking forward to
sharing my knowledge with all of our customers!”

“I started shooting a bow at age 8. I
started to get serious when I was 11 so
I could go hunting the following season.
Since then I’ve been hooked. I have been
shooting and bowhunting ever since.
I took a mini break in archery to play
baseball in college at Penn State. I also
competed for their archery team after
my baseball days were over. I started
working with Lancaster Archery right
after college, so I guess you could say I
never really had a “real” job. I was one of the lead Techs in the LAS
Pro Shop for 15 years, before moving into the CSR position. I was
on the Outdoor Life test panel for new hunting compound bow for 9
years. I’ve been fortunate to hunt in 12 states for a variety of different
animals. My new challenge has been trying to learn the ways of
western hunting, which is proving quite challenging. My wife Hallie
and I enjoy shooting all forms of archery in our back yard, which is
located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.”

“Hunting and the outdoors have always
been a part of my life - from hunting
the mountains of PA for whitetails, to
working over bird dogs for upland game,
to fly-fishing for native brook trout. I was
introduced to archery as a young boy,
but my passion for archery grew later in
life out of the desire to find more opportunities
to hunt and spend time in the
outdoors. Today, I enjoy bowhunting for
whitetails, and find the challenges of DIY
public land hunting particularly rewarding. My career with Lancaster
Archery Supply started simply as a part-time sales associate and
bow technician in our Lancaster Pro Shop. I have since moved into
the role of Customer Service Manager, and enjoy working with the
broad spectrum of archers who are our customers.”

“Since childhood I have loved everything
involved with the great outdoors. My
fascination began while camping,
backpacking and kayaking with the Boy
Scouts. I started shooting archery at the
age of 10. I fell in love with everything
the sport has to offer, from the thrill of
shooting target archery to the heart
pounding adrenalin rush of chasing
monster bucks. Working at Lancaster
Archery Supply has helped hone my
skills and increase my knowledge of archery. Not only have I learned
from vendors, suppliers and fellow employees, but from the fellow
archers I speak with daily. Give me a call to answer any questions
you may have, or to help you get the right equipment and advice for
your next adventure.”

“I started my archery career at 8 years
old, when I got my first bow and began
shooting with my Dad. Soon after, I
started shooting and competing in a
local JOAD program. Since those early
years, archery has taken me all over
the U.S., with many shoots, podiums,
and top-10 finishes in FITA, NFAA, and
3D disciplines. Once I turned 12, I took
up bowhunting, which completed my
archery obsession. I have hunted and
been successful in many of our neighboring states, mainly on public
land. I have learned a lot so far with my experiences in the industry.
Running our trailers out on the road allows me to meet many of our
customers face to face, and gives me a unique view on learning new
products and different ways of assisting our customers in reaching
the highest level they can.”

“I found archery in the early 90’s a
little different than most, through an
obsession with comic books and the
bow and arrow wielding heroes therein.
Upon getting my first bow, I went about
absorbing as much knowledge as I could
about the sport and eventually began
bow hunting. After I completed college,
I moved to Georgia and went to work for
Wildcat Archery and Hunting Supply, a
local pro shop near Savannah, where I
worked for 13 years. I also became involved in the local target archery
community, falling in love with field archery. I am now President of
the Ogeechee Bowmen, one of the oldest Archery clubs in Georgia.
I look forward to helping introduce anyone I can to the sport from
any avenue possible and I take a lot of pride in trying to be a ‘walking
textbook’ on the subject. So, whether the problem is with the tune on
your bow, selection of arrows, or the best target for your club’s range,
please don’t hesitate to contact me.”
Troy Walters
“Introduced to archery at a young age,
it has been a part of my life - and my
second nature - for as long as I can
recall. My start with LAS in 2013 has
grown my interest and understanding
of the competitive side of the sport.
Introducing youth to archery and the
outdoors is what I enjoy the most about
my position. Archery has connected me
with some great co-workers and many
amazing friends along the way. Whether
it be at the LAS Express on the Tournament Trail, or from the comfort
of your home on the phone, I look forward to connecting with you
as well!”
Lynnetta Smith
“I was initially introduced to archery
through my husband and started
shooting a compound bow as a means
to enjoy 3-D shoots together as a family.
I have just recently begun shooting a
recurve as a way to gain valuable technical
experience that I can pass on to our
customers and to shoot for fun with my
daughter. Working at Lancaster Archery
Supply has given me the opportunity
to learn new things about all types of
archery products and to help fellow archers. I look forward to helping
our customers with their archery equipment needs and hearing their
archery adventure stories.”
Julie Kaufman
“I found archery a little later in life
than the others, but it is now my #1
obsession. I could talk all day long
about it; which is why I love my job! I
started shooting in a different division
than most – Freestyle Limited (FSL),
but with a Compound. I competed
mainly in indoor target for the first few
years and gradually moved to shooting
outdoors, as well. After about 5 years,
I made the jump to a release. I now
shoot FS in about any tournament I can - from Spots to 3D. I have
even been lucky enough to win a few Shooter of the Year titles in
both formats. Hopefully hunting will happen some day in the future.
I have recently begun to shoot a recurve to acquire the necessary
technical knowledge to help our customers and for the chance to
shoot FSL again. I hope to talk to you on the phone or meet you at
a shoot some day!”
Jennifer Gerber
“I always associated archery with
hunting and never thought it was
possible to shoot unless I hunted.
When I finally realized how far from
the truth that is, I started shooting a
compound “competition” bow and have
loved it so much that it has become a
complete passion of mine! 3D shoots,
PA State Archery Association shoots,
indoor competitions at local clubs and
the Lancaster Classic are all events I’ve
participated in. But my biggest accomplishment and most rewarding
experience so far has been volunteering with a local “Outdoor
Ministry” Organization as a coach and mentor for kids who want to
experience archery. I was able to combine the enjoyment of working
with kids and my passion for archery to encourage kids to be confident
in themselves and their abilities to succeed in this sport! I also
would have never pictured myself having a career that is so directly
involved with something I am so passionate about, which makes
working at Lancaster Archery Supply a rewarding step on my ladder
of achievements in archery and offers endless opportunities for
learning and gaining experience in something I love!”
Ryan Daugherty
“I came to Lancaster Archery in 2007
as a TechXpert. Through the years
Lancaster Archery has provided me
the opportunity to continue growing
professionally, while working in an
industry that I am passionate about.
Each day presents new challenges and
opportunities. Archery is unique in that
you never know everything, and I find
myself learning something new almost
every day. I enjoy being able to work
with and help fellow archers. I try to spend as much of my spare time
as possible in the outdoors. Besides bowhunting I also enjoy hiking,
photography, and spending time with my wife and daughter.”
Dakota Shackelford
“I remember looking in the Lancaster
Archery Supply catalog and thinking,
‘I wish I worked there’. I have been
shooting since I was 5 years old. I
remember the day I got that first bow,
and how happy I was and how much I
slapped my arm with the string. I started
with 3D shoots, then later started to
actually hunt. I mostly hunted white-tailed
deer and turkeys. It wasn’t until I was
about 13 that I started to shoot target
archery. I joined the Lancaster JOAD when I was 15. I have been
shooting target ever since, and I love it. I love watching this sport
grow and knowing that the future is even greater. There is nothing
that makes me happier than seeing someone succeed in archery,
especially when it is from my help. Give me a call. I will be More than
happy to help you find a solution to your problem and assist in all of
your archery needs.”
