came behind him Jesus, and touched the
hem of his garment: For she said within
herself, If I may but touch his garment, I
shall be whole. But Jesus turned him about,
and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be
of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee
whole. And the woman was made whole
from that hour (Matthew 9:20–22).
The Syrophenician woman who sought healing
for her daughter believed to see. And,
behold, a woman of Canaan came out of
the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying,
Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou
son of David; my daughter
is grievously vexed with
a devil. Then Jesus
answered and said unto
her, O woman, great
is thy faith: be it unto
thee even as thou
wilt. And her daughter
was made whole
from that very hour
(Matthew 15:22,28).
Jesus was on His
way to heal Jairus’
dying daughter when
there cometh one
from the ruler of the
synagogue’s house,
saying to him, Thy
daughter is dead; trouble
not the Master. But when
Jesus heard it, he answered
him, saying, Fear not: believe
only, and she shall be made whole.
(Luke 8:49,50). Jarius believed to see, and Jesus
raised his daughter from the dead.
A centurion’s servant was very sick with
palsy, and he went to Jesus for help. And
Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal
him. The centurion answered and said,
Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest
come under my roof: but speak the word
only, and my servant shall be healed. When
Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to
them that followed, Verily I say unto you,
I have not found so great faith, no, not in
Israel. And Jesus said unto the centurion,
Go thy way; and as thou hast believed,
so be it done unto thee. And his servant
Thomas Was a Doubter
All the disciples doubted what Christ had told
them about His resurrection; however, when
they heard that it had actually happened, they
all believed, except for Thomas. The other
disciples therefore said unto him, We have
seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except
I shall see in his hands the print of the nails,
and put my finger into the print of the nails,
and thrust my hand into his side, I will not
believe (John 20:25).
Thomas was so depressed that after Christ
died, he wouldn’t even gather with the rest
of the disciples; and it was such
a shame that he wasn’t there
when Jesus first appeared to
them.
After seven days of
moping around, Thomas
finally decided to join
the other disciples.
Then to their amazement,
Jesus walked
right through the closed
door and into the room.
Thomas must have
nearly fainted. Then
Jesus looked at him and
said, Reach hither thy
finger, and behold my
hands; and reach hither
thy hand, and thrust it
into my side: and be not
faithless, but believing. And
Thomas answered and said unto
him, My Lord and my God (John 20:27,28).
Then Jesus let him know about his wrong
thinking saying, Thomas, because thou hast
seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they
that have not seen, and yet have believed
(John 20:29).
Believe to See
Down through the ages, every person who
dared to believe the Lord saw God in action.
The woman with the issue of blood believed
to see the glory of God, and she received her
miracle. And, behold, a woman, which was
diseased with an issue of blood twelve years,
