Q Master Marr’s Taekwon-do Summer Camp is
a great way for beginners to kick-start their training,
and for experienced martial artists to hone their skills.
Choose from three sessions for ages 5-14: June
10-14, July 15-19, and August 12-16, from 9 am to
12:30 pm or 9 am to 3 pm. Younger children come for
a half-day of martial arts practice, age-appropriate
conditioning, and challenging games. Older children
stay after lunch for more training and to prepare
a demonstration for friends and family. For more

Q Nature Center at Shaker Lakes offers weekly
camps with an outdoor adventure or nature theme.
Half- and full-day camps are available for children
ages 3 1/2-14. Week-long adventure camps are
available for ages 11-14, where campers explore the
variety of outdoor recreation and adventure activities
that northeast Ohio has to offer. Camps run from
June 17 to August 15. Registration begins January

Q Shaker Heights City School District
offers Summer Exploration, Learning and Fun
(SELF), which provides an array of summer
program options for all students grades K-12
in the District. Students can enroll in programs
that focus on the arts, STEM, global languages,
and skill, career, and personal development.
All programs offer a robust curriculum that
aligns to literacy and math learning standards.
The program runs in June and July. Online
registration will begin in February. For more

Q Shaker Heights Recreation Department
offers traditional camp for children grades
K-8. K-2 includes creative arts and sports such
as swimming, t-ball, soccer, and basketball.
Grades 3-8 are able to design their own camp
day, choosing from a variety of activities such
as sports, arts and crafts, hiking, science,
swimming, volleyball, and soccer. Field trips
every other week are part of the schedule for
both age groups. Before and after care are
available for those who are registered for camp.
Half-day camp options are available.
Shaker also offers the following sports
camps: baseball, basketball, flag football, golf,
lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and volleyball.
Specialty camps include band camp and
computer camps. Other Shaker Recreation
options include Safety Town, Teens Learning
to Connect (ages 13-15), and ice skating.
The popular Adventure Camp offers a week
full of outdoor activities, including river rafting,
kayaking, rock climbing, and biking.
