Each load must be accompanied by a BOL (Bill of Lading) 2. Each delivery must have a detailed PACKING LIST that identifies the customer name, product code(s) and the product quantity. 3. If you have purchase orders, the PO number should be on the packing list IDENTIFICATION 1. Roll Stock (Paper) – Grade, Size, Basis Weight, Skid Number, Customers Name & P.O. Number, barcode (more Manufacturing Specifications available upon request) 2. Other Product: Each carton and /or pallet (skid) must be marked with a SKU Number, Pro Number, or Version Code. (Optional, yet helpful, info on pallet – Weight and No of Cartons) 3. Each carton must be marked with the individual content QUANTITY 4. When practical, a product sample should be attached to the outside of each carton 5. Each product code must be delivered on its own pallet. However, due to the small quantity of some projects, it is permissible to put more than one product on a single pallet. In the cases where more than one product is on a single pallet, each carton must have a carton label to display each product code and the cartons must be segregated. (This must be outlined on the packing slip) PHYSCIAL ATTRIBUTES 1. All material must be packed in uniform cartons, brick stacked, or secured for transport. 2. Each carton must be provided with “carton integrity”, that is there must be only one product permitted in each carton. 3. All pallets must be stretch wrapped or shrink wrapped and must be free of metal bands. Plastic banding permissible, but not required. Good shipping practices should be followed if there are any questions on how a particular shipment should be prepared PALLETIZATION 1. All palletized shipments must be on a 40”x48” beveled entry 4-way pallet a. Maximum height should not exceed 48” Drop Ship is the process whereby the Printer (Hess) transports the mail directly to various NDC (national Distribution Centers) and SCF (Sectional Center facilities). The USPS offers discounts for the printer to handle the distribution of Standard Mail and some Periodical. Hess will evaluate the amount of mail qualifying for these facilities, compare the USPS discount vs. the cost of transportation, and determine if we can save our clients money by offering this.
