USPS Address Requirements Minimum Address Block is 1.75 x 3.75", consult your customer service representative if any custom paramaters are required. Example: Data with customer numbers, keycodes, or other messaging would require increased inkjet area. Address fonts must be a minimum of 8-point type, each character must be at least .080 inch high. If the mailpiece bears a POSTNET or Intelligent Mail barcode with delivery point routing code, mailers may use 6-point type in all capital letters. Each character must be .065 inch high. On all automation pieces the characters must not overlap, the address lines must not touch or overlap and each address element may be separated by no more than 5 blank character spaces. The delivery point address must be placed in the top half of the the mailpiece. The top of the piece will be determined when the fold or bound edge is placed in your right hand, the delivery point address must be in the top half and read right when in that position. 3.75" Min" L 1.75" Min H Drop Ship is the process whereby the Printer (Hess) transports the mail directly to various NDC (national Distribution Centers) and SCF (Sectional Center facilities). The USPS offers discounts for the printer to handle the distribution of Standard Mail and some Periodical. Hess will evaluate the amount of mail qualifying for these facilities, compare the USPS discount vs. the cost of transportation, and determine if we can save our clients money by offering this.
