those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they
will be filled.” Comments on these pages may have

Hunger and Thirst
Comment of the Month
My parents — one a Democrat, the other a
Republican; one conservative, the other liberal —
canceled each other’s votes every time they voted
except once, when Dad ran for county sheriff
and Mom voted for him! They had diametrically
opposed views on virtually everything and voiced
their differences united in love for Jesus and every
person. They demonstrated in our home and
elsewhere what John Wesley termed the catholic
spirit. What great examples they were to me!
— John “Ike” Owen in a comment on a video that
Free Methodist Church – USA Bishops Linda Adams,
Keith Cowart and Matt Whitehead released a few days
before the Nov. 3 election.

Lois Kiger As I read this article A Secret Act of
Righteousness, I was more sad for the families who
couldn’t show grace to their loved ones, compared
to the outcasts, who knew all about God’s grace and
showing grace to others. Despite their horrendous
hardships, they have peace and joy from God.
Pris Thompson Thank you for your statements For the
Health of the Nation on upholding a comprehensive
pro-life ethic in our denomination and for
“safeguarding the nature and sanctity of human life.”
As a nurse practitioner for 20 years in a pregnancy
resource clinic, I treated vulnerable teens, prostitutes
and lower income patients during their first trimester of
pregnancy. Thankfully I was free to pray and share the
message of Jesus with them as they came with their
hurts and fears.
Merry Kendall I started a book discussion on prophetic
lament, and this article Scholars and Servant Leaders
really drove home a lot of the points the author made
in that book. Thank you!
