from pre-operative
evaluation through
surgery and post-operative acute care in the Total Joint

The multidisciplinary team of professionals provides
comprehensive orthopedic surgery care coordination
including pre-operative evaluation unit, a comprehensive

experienced orthopedic surgical team, a certified
orthopedic clinical nurse navigator, certified orthopedic
nurses and a team of skilled rehabilitation professionals.
The Sidney A. Bell Joint Center at Redmond is a
dedicated post-operative acute care unit. This specialized
unit features private, specially designed orthopedic patient
rooms, a dedicated Joint Gym, the Joint Café and more.
Redmond offers a full range of state-of-the art orthopedic
surgical services including arthroplasty; bone grafts; carpal
tunnel and other peripheral nerve entrapment syndromes;
muscle, ligament, and tendon repairs and transfers; hip,
knee, and shoulder joint replacement; hip fracture care;
and more.
Redmond has recently expanded the hospital’s orthopedic
surgical program with the addition of a new surgical
technology: roboticassisted
orthopedic
surgery for total
knee replacement.
This advanced
surgical technology
is designed to
enhance accuracy
in placing implants
and get you back
to life as quickly as
possible – all under
the guidance of your
surgeon.
Robotic- assisted
orthopedic surgery
is a surgical
technology with a
personalized surgical plan, all in the palm of the surgeon‘s
hand. Surgeons use a robotic-assisted handpiece that
relays precise information about the patient’s knee to the
advanced computer system.
This system works in conjunction with the surgeon’s
skilled hand to achieve precise positioning of implants,
based on the unique anatomy of each patient.
Since 2008, Redmond Regional Medical Center has
held special certification from The Joint Commission
for excellence in Total Hip Replacement and Total Knee
Replacement surgical procedures.
The addition of this newest surgical option continues
Redmond’s reputation as a regional leader in providing
high-quality care. In fact, Redmond became the first
hospital in Georgia to use this newest CT-free roboticassisted
surgical procedure for total knee replacement.
With the addition of the new robotic-assisted orthopedic
surgery program, Redmond is re-defining surgical options
for patients, keeping those options close to home.
