This year’s Cherokee Super
Six is a mix of big-name
players and prospects out to
prove themselves in 2022.
Cherokee County was
treated to some exciting
football last season between
Cherokee and Creekview
making the state playoffs
and another memorable rivalry
game between Etowah
and Woodstock.
Senior offensive lineman
Tyler Douthit from Woodstock
leads the Super Six with
20 college offers, highlighted
by schools like Maryland and
Princeton.
Douthit and Creekview senior
linebacker Isaac Hubert
were members of the 2021
Super Six, as four new faces
were brought into the fold.
Hubert is the only committed
player on this list. He announced
his decision to j oin
the Air Force Academy on
June 23, teaming up with his
older brother, Ty, once again.
Woodstock defensive back
Adonis G arcia earned significant
recognition following
his junior season, where he
played both sides of the ball.
G arcia and Douthit look to
j ump-start the Wolverines’
rebuild while surrounded by
a young roster.
River Ridge’s Jackson
Head is a clear-cut leader for
the K nights’ offense heading
into 2022. The senior tightend
and receiver posted 69 5
yards and 10 touchdowns last
season and will play a critical
role in helping a pair of young
quarterbacks get comfortable
at the varsity level.
For Cherokeej unior
linebacker K yan Simmons
and Etowah offensive lineman
Tate Nelms, this year
is all about showing their
potential.
Simmons is finally back
to 100% following offseason
shoulder surgery and ready
to captain the Warriors’ defense.
He was Cherokee’s
third-leading tackler in 2021,
with 86 tackles and a pair of
sacks.
Nelms will be the most important
player on Etowah’s
most important unit this
year. O ver the last few seasons,
the Eagles have been a
run-heavy, possession-dominant
offense, and the Eagles’
massive lineman is ready to
take charge.
With this year’s group, a
Q R code is attached to each
athlete’s page. All members
of the Super Six have done
short video interviews, which
have been paired with their
highlight packages.
All six players are mustwatch
for Cherokee County
football in 2022.
