1 Art in the park
Artists and art lovers alike will find
something to marvel at during
the annual Art in the Park festival
in Glover Park in Marietta Square. The art
festival takes place from September 3 to
September 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The
art festival features a juried exhibition with
pieces by local artists and artists from all
over the country. All of the items are original,
handmade work. There will be paintings,
photography, jewelry, sculptures, pottery
and more. This family-friendly event also has
a Children’s Art Alley filled with art stations
where children can make artwork and take
it home. Finally, stop by the Chalk Spot from
September 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. where
participants will have the opportunity to
create chalk designs in 3-foot square spots.
Admission is free.
2Noshfest
Celebrate and learn about Jewish
food and culture at Cobb County’s
10th annual Noshfest. Hosted by
Temple Kol Emeth, the festival will take place
on September 4 and September 5 from 11
a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Taste food from
around the world and shop at booths selling
unique crafts and goods. Learn more about
Jewish culture with interactive exhibits and
tour the sanctuary. There will be a kid’s zone
with inflatables, face painting and games,
plus dancing, live music and a DJ. The event
is free and open to the public, but admission
is two canned goods per family which will be
donated to MUST Ministries.
3 Pizza, Pints & Pigskins
The best way to prepare for fall
football season is with boxes of
pizza and pints of beer. Stop by
Logan Farm Park in Acworth on September 10
to indulge in some pizza. Admission is free to
this festival and will feature pizzerias from all
over Cobb County. Restaurants will be selling
pizza and other fare starting at noon while
they compete for prizes in best pizza, most
creative pizza, people’s choice pizza and
more. There will be a kid’s zone with rides,
live music and a beer garden. The event ends
at 10 p.m. Who can say no to an afternoon of
pizza?
4 Taste of Smyrna
Taste of Smyrna, otherwise known
as a foodie’s paradise, returns to
the Village Green on September 17
from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. This festival features
samples from more than 30 Smyrna-area
restaurants with prices ranging from $1 to $4
per item. The restaurants are competing to
win in five contests: best entree, best dessert,
best food presentation, best decorated tent
and best appetizer. In the past, restaurants
like Stockyard Burgers & Bones, Taste
Jamaica, Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, Bob’s
Lemonade, Mezza Luna Pasta & Seafood
and many more have been in attendance. In
addition to bountiful food and drink, there
will be live music, a beer and wine garden
for adults and activities for kids. Admission
is free.
5 North Georgia State Fair
Bring the whole family to the North
Georgia State Fair and welcome
the fall season. The 89th annual
fair will come to Jim Miller Park in Marietta
from September 22 through October 2.
Considered the largest fair in metro Atlanta,
this event features live music, attractions,
shows, blue ribbon competitions, farm and
exotic animals, dancers and performers, fair
food and carnival rides. Some shows for the
2022 season include Puppy Pals— a comedic
stunt dog show, The Birdman, Sandscapes,
a pig race, a petting barn and much more!
Parking costs $5, and admission is free for
children under 10. General tickets cost $10 at
the gate or $7 in advance. Check out www.

fair is open Monday through Thursday from
4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays from 4 p.m. to
midnight, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to midnight

Octer
6Chalktoberfest
Beer, wine and chalk art! What
more could a person ask for? Visit
Marietta’s annual Chalktoberfest.
This family-friendly event begins on October
8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and continues
October 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will
be arts and crafts vendors, live music, food
trucks and live chalk art both days. The Craft
Beer Festival takes place on October 8 from
noon to 5 p.m. Enjoy 120 dierent craft beers
and 25 varieties of wine while perusing the
chalk art. On October 9, participate in the
community chalk competition from 11 a.m. to
5 p.m.
