Fortunately, Jade says, the Nussbaums
were willing to go outside
of their comfort zone with her.
She was able to incorporate some
of her favorite styles inside the
home and out – juxtapositions of
deep jewel tones and light woods,
metal cabinetry and soft textures,
natural fibers and stark accessories.
“I like moody colors. I want
patterns. I want to be excited – for
the room to entertain me,” says
Jade. “I like anything that’s just
a little controversial and a little
bit different. And controversial
doesn’t always have to be something
provocative, it can mean that
it’s just approached in a different
way – it’s not typical or boring. It’s
unexpected.”
The Nussbaums embraced the
contemporary nature of the design
