Creating cordials to enjoy throughout the year or present as
gifts during the holidays is a simple process that takes only
a few ingredients, some glass containers for storage, a cool
and dark space, sipping glasses for enjoyment, and a small
abundance of time.

Crème De Menthe
• 2 cups sugar
• 1 cup water
• 3 cups vodka
• 2 to 3 teaspoons peppermint
extract
• 4 drops green food coloring
Combine sugar and water in a heavy saucepan. Bring
to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer
until sugar has completely dissolved, about 3 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
Combine sugar syrup, vodka, food coloring and
peppermint extract, adding extract to taste. Pour into
bottles and cap tightly. Let age at least one month
before serving.
