I started practicing Yoga 21
years ago as I began to truly
start feeling my age.
roughout my life I have
always tried to stay somewhat
physically t. I’ve tried to watch
what I eat, stay active, get
enough sleep – we all know the
basic rules for keeping healthy.
However, as I aged, sleep became
more elusive. I was eating
less and exercising more just
to maintain. Between the back
pain and the stress, I could feel
myself losing exibility and
balance as well.
I had to accept that
aging was here to
stay.
At the time I was
exercising and
eating healthy,
but felt that I was
not physically and
mentally responding to
my life’s regimen. Why had
my body stopped responding?
A friend who was 10 years my
senior and had a great disposition,
was energetic, and
had a great physique to boot,
suggested I join her for a Yoga
class. She said it had changed
her life.
From there, I started to slowly
see my body respond, and for
the past two decades, Yoga has
become a necessity in my life
and something I love to share.
Whether I’m teaching a general
Yoga class, Yoga for Golf
or Yoga for Seniors, I focus on
poses that help us recover and
improve the exibility, balance,
and strength that we tend to
lose as we age. ese things are
critical for maintaining lifelong
independence.

Balance
Balance comes from movement,
mastering transitions,
and developing your strength.
