Kaus Appointed to Library Board The Shaker Heights Board of Education has appointed Tenille N. Kaus to the Library’s board of trustees for a sevenyear term. She replaces retired board member Troy Meinhard. Kaus, an attorney specializing in employment law and labor relations, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh and received her JD cum laude from The University of Akron School of Law. She grew up on the east side of Cleveland and now lives in Shaker’s Lomond area with her husband Michael, an attorney, and daughter, Eleanor, a third grader at Hathaway Brown School. Kaus enjoys volunteering with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio and the College Now Mentoring Program. She is also a mentor for the Say Yes to Education (Cleveland) Program. “After moving to Shaker Heights, my family found our niche at Shaker Library,” she says. “The Library is a rich community resource and I am honored to serve on its board. I would like to ensure that children, teens, and young adults have a voice at the table. My current volunteer activities focus on these populations and I have learned so much through my interactions with them. I also have a strong interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion.” Her reading preferences include biographies (Her favorite is Becoming by Michelle Obama), ethnic cookbooks, and self-help books, such as Think Again: The Power of Knowing What You Don’t Know by Adam Grant.
