She also worked as a small business librarian for Columbus Metropolitan Library’s Main Library. In her current position, she teaches computer classes, provides one-on-one help, and curates training on library technology. “What I enjoy most about my work is helping people learn how to use technology in ways that positively impact their day-to-day lives,” she says. “I strongly believe in storytelling as a form of community and the Library’s ability to serve as the place where community actualizes. I’ve been a frequent library user my entire life and for me, the library has always been a place for civic engagement, equitable access to information, and lifelong learning,” says Dasco. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading nonfiction, memoirs, and literary fiction. Some of her favorite reads include In Other Words by Jhumpa Lahiri, Weather by Jenny Offill, Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan Novels, and They Can’t Kill Us Until They Kill Us by Hanif Abdurraqib. She is currently reading Upstream by Mary Oliver. She prefers reading actual books but loves to listen to audiobooks when she is on the go. Dasco’s interests lean toward traveling, cooking, and hiking the Cleveland Metroparks. She lives in the Fernway area with her husband, Garrett. They are expecting their first child in September.
