Cobb is no stranger to college sports, and its largest collegiate athletic
programs are run out of Kennesaw State University.
Georgia’s second largest university by enrollment competes in 16
NCAA Division I programs. All but one of those compete in the
ASUN Conference alongside schools such as Florida Gulf Coast,
Eastern Kentucky and North Florida. Alone among KSU sports
programs, football plays in the Big South Conference against schools
such as Monmouth, North Alabama and Charleston Southern.
The KSU Owls football team, led by head coach Brian Bohannon,
only began in 2015 but has become a consistent top team in its conference,
having been crowned Big South champions in 2017 and 2018
and making runner-up the past two seasons.
