Before the Braves, before I-75, before the Big Chicken,
and even before the invention of the property tax – if you can
believe it – there was the Chattahoochee River.
The ancient waterway is one of Cobb County’s premier
outdoor attractions, readily and easily accessible at a number
of points along the 48-mile stretch within the Chattahoochee
River National Recreation Area.
Surely the most cherished tradition along the river is
‘shooting the Hooch’ by inner tube, kayak, raft, and more.
Step onto its shores on a given summer afternoon and
hundreds of adventurers and revelers will drift by, cooling
