“The 2021 Rome News-Tribune Super Six
is the second-ever such listing in the Pigskin
Preview Magazine, making its return from
2019. This year’s list features both young
and seasoned talent with offers from Division
I schools.
Four of the six on the list are two-way players,
who suit up on both offense and defense.
Half have offers from Power 5 institutions.
One of those is Darlington senior Patrick
Shelley. Shelley suited up at quarterback
and free safety, accumulating over 1,800 of
total offense and 43 tackles and five interceptions
on defense.
Pepperell junior running back DJ Rogers,
who rushed for nearly 1,500 yards last season,
returns to the gridiron ready to help lead
the Dragons in a competitive Region 7-AA.
Rome’s roster features plenty of talent returning
for fall 2021, including three players
with offers to SEC schools. Junior Stephiylon
Green will anchor the defensive line
while sophomore Martavious Collins and junior
Martel Hight will both feature heavily
on offense. Collins and Green have offers to
Georgia while Hight maintains offers from
Florida and Vanderbilt.
Bryson Hill, entering his senior season, will
suit up for action on both sides of the ball as
the Wolves look to make some more noise
in Class AAAAAA.
There is a plethora of varsity talent across
the Seven Hills as the 2021 football season
is upon us.”
