Super Six players making big waves heading into 2021

Cherokee County has always had talented
football players, but the sheer amount of
them have increased by leaps and bounds
over the last few years.
It seems like the 2021 football season is
another representative of that as this year’s
Cherokee Super Six is one of the best in
recent memory.
The class is led by Cherokee quarterback
A.J. Swann. The senior signal caller
became the first county quarterback to be
selected to compete in the Elite 11 quarterback
challenge, and he recently received
84 KICKOFF 2021
his fourth star from Rivals.
Committed to the University of Maryland,
Swann will try to lead the Warriors
to their first region championship since
the 2002 season.
Swann’s favorite target, Adarrius Harshaw,
may be undersized at 5-foot-10, 155-pounds,
but he makes plenty of big plays. The threestar
recruit turned those plays into a commitment
to the University of Utah.
While Swann may not get to throw to
his favorite target when they get to college,
he may have a rival blocking for him.
Woodstock offensive lineman Tyler Douthit
recently earned his first offer from the
University of Maryland, however with
two seasons still to play, he will likely get
many others.
River Ridge running back Amehre Morrison
has just started getting his offers
and got his first one from an FBS school
in Purdue. If he has another 1,900-yard
rushing season, that will change.
On defense, Brian Bradley anchors the
Knights’ defensive line and has offers from
Air Force, Army and three Mid-American
Conference schools.
Finally, Creekview junior linebacker
Isaac Hubert’s recruiting will begin to hit
full force this fall. After being a MaxPreps
Freshman All-American in 2019, he has one
offer in his pocket from Jacksonville State.
