MDJ DYNAMITE DOZEN
12 KICKOFF 2021
Dynamite Dozen star quality
does not disappoint in 2021

The answer is 45.
The question is how many
combined stars does the 2021
Marietta Daily Journal Dynamite
Dozen currently have?
We say currently, because as
the summer progressed, many
members of the class moved from
three to four stars. As Kickoff ‘21
heads to press on July 26, there
were six four-star prospects —
Walton’s Marcus Allen, Marietta’s
Jace Arnold, Allatoona’s
Bennett Christian, Marietta’s
Daniel Martin, along with North
Cobb’s De’nylon Morrissette
and Malachi Singleton.
By the time the season is over,
it would not be surprising to see
three more more of them jump
to a five star. If Singleton takes
another big step forward, as he
did last season, Christian shows
off his pass catching ability and
Martin continues to show a tenacity
for both sides of the ball,
they could all make the jump,
and with huge seasons, the other
three could join them.
For the seven three stars, they
all have a legitimate arguement
they should be four stars now.
Big years from them could not
only earn them a fourth star,
but Power 5 offers they may be
lacking at this moment.
One thing is for certain, Cobb
County remains one of the premier
places for college recruiters
to visit. Why? These 13 players
may be the tip of the iceberg, but
there is plenty of ice just under
the surface. When the potential
Dynamite Dozen list was created
there were nearly 30 players in
the county who were three-star
players or better.
As someone might imagine,
choosing the best of the best
is one of the hardest decisions
of the year.
