STAYING CONNECTED
CCSD makes it easy for parents to stay connected and
up to date on school news. The School District’s website
at www.cherokeek12.net features a mobile friendly design
with “app” buttons on the homepage and quick links to
the most-used content. Tabs connect you to individual
schools’ websites (which all follow the same design), as
well as to School Board information, central office divisions
like School Nutrition, and Open CCSD – a one-stop
shop of public information. The Jobs@CCSD button
connects you to job listings and online applications.
CCSD’s numerous award-winning publications, ranging
from the annual report of district progress to the school
choice report, also are posted on the website.
CCSD also shares school news through major social
media platforms:
• CCSD Facebook (CherokeeGASchools)
• CCSD Twitter (CherokeeSchools)
• CCSD Instagram (cherokeegaschools)
• CCSDYouTube (CherokeeGASchools)
• CCSD LinkedIn (cherokee-county-schools).
All of CCSD’s schools also maintain individual social
media accounts, with links to the platforms from their
website home pages.
Parents also receive a monthly e-newsletter, CCSD
Connections, by email at the start of each month. The
national award-winning newsletter is packed with brief
news items, photos, an events calendar and resources for
parents. The newsletter also is posted on the homepage
of CCSD’s website, providing access to the community
at-large.

The Cherokee County Educational Foundation is a
non-profit charity that promotes excellence for the public
schools of the Cherokee County School District.
Since its formation in 2012, the nonprofit community
organization has donated nearly $1,000,000 to CCSD
through Classroom Impact Grants, Rapid Grants, and
districtwide special programs and funding initiatives.
The CCEF Board of Directors is comprised of local
business and civic leaders, led by President Billy Hayes,
the CEO of Northside Hospital Cherokee and a charter
member of the CCEF Board.
“The high-quality education available in our Cherokee
County public schools is one of the reasons we are able to
attract and retain a high caliber of medical professionals
to our Northside system,” Mr. Hayes said. “I am proud to
say that all of my children have either graduated or are
currently going through the public school system’.
In addition to grants and personal contributions, the
Foundation raises money for CCSD through four major
initiatives coordinated by the Board and Executive Director
Lisa-Marie Haygood: The Chick-fil-A Moo’ve It 5K in
August, which also benefits Cherokee County Special
Olympics; the annual Golf Classic to be held at Bridgemill
in October; the annual t-shirt campaign and the “Celebration
of Education” Gala in March.
The community is welcome to support CCEF through
its fundraisers, as well as through direct charitable donations.
