STORY BY MATT GAROFALO
As the cold weather
approaches,
people’s taste buds start to crave the heartier
darker spirits.
Two of the fastest growing dark spirits are
bourbons and rye whiskey. Bourbon is the
only spirit that is indigenous to America,
meaning it only can be made in the good
ol’ U.S.A.
Traditionally bourbon was consumed
straight up, on the rocks, or mixed with
a sweet mixer such as vermouth or
soda. Mixologists have taken these traditional
cocktails to an all new level in the
trendy bars spread throughout the big cities.
Now you see all kinds of different ingredients
blended in such as herbs, roots,
syrups, and even infusing smoke flavor.
As you go to make drinks for your friends
and loved ones this holiday season, get
creative with that bourbon collection you
have or try some of the following recipes.
