In June, the Lake Oconee community lost one of
its most beloved members.
Shane Meder, owner and principal designer
of Black Sheep Interiors, was a friend to many
and a champion of charitable causes throughout
the region – notably the Lake Oconee Showcase
of Homes to benefit Greene County Habitat for
Humanity.
His larger-than-life personality and unceasing
generosity helped establish the annual tour as the
organization’s largest fundraising event.

“Shane was an integral part of the Showcase of
Homes team from its inception,” says Jan Broughton,
board director for Greene County Habitat. “He
was our most avid supporter who encouraged and
challenged his friends and clients to join him in
support of the mission of Habitat.”
Meder asked his clients each year to open their
homes for Habitat and encouraged fellow leaders in
the building and design industry to do the same.
