Usually, the main focus of the spring issue of
Rome Life Magazine is weddings. Local weddings.
And there’s good reason for that. Weddings aren’t
just pretty, gaudy events to feast and toast and dance
the night away.
Weddings are also an extremely special part of our
society. They’re a celebration of love and committment
and the uniting of families.
That’s why we like to pay special attention to local
weddings in this issue. We’re featuring 10 weddings
that took place locally or that feature local families.
There are simple country weddings, grand church
weddings, weddings with fireworks, flowers, food and
festivities.
As usual we’re listing all the vendors for each
wedding so that if you like something you see, you
might be able to recreate it for your special day.
But there’s far more to this issue than just beautiful
weddings. Our features offer a slice of Rome Life. You
can read about Markecia Dudley’s mobile nail salon as
she brings fashionable nails right to her clients’ doors.
Interested in beautiful sports cars? We’ve got a great
feature by Rome resident Steven Eckhoff who’s in the
business of selling some of the coolest cars in the
world. Steven gives us some behind-the-scenes stories
about life in the sports car business.
A new gym just for women recently opened up
downtown and we’ve got an interview with its owner,
Crystal Stewart in which she explains the motivation for
opening the gym and what it offers the community.
Since it’s spring, we know there are lots of readers
who are out working in the yard and trying to get their
property looking the best they can.
Our “Curb Appeal” feature takes a look at how
landscaping and some upgrades completely transform
three different local homes. One was in desparate need
of some landscaping, one wanted a pollinator garden
and one wanted a space the entire family could enjoy.
And we realize there’s a big ol’ world outside our
beautiful community. That’s why we always try to include
a travel feature in Rome Life Magazine. This issue takes
us out West as two Rome teachers - Shannon Pollitz and
Tyler Thomas - document their amazing adventures at
some of the nation’s most spectacular national parks
including Zion, Arches, Death Valley and Capitol Reef.
Shannon’s photographs are awe-inspiring as she
captures some of the country’s most breathtaking
scenery. And we’re happy to share them with you.
We hope you enjoy this issue of Rome Life Magazine.
