DISCHARGE SYSTEMS
Discharge printing is a process where water-based inks are applied to certain “dischargeable” dark colored garments to produce very bright, soft
prints. As the discharge inks are printed and heat cured, the original dyes in the garment are being reduced, or “discharged” from the image area.
SOFT-HAND DISCHARGE
Water-based discharge underbases for plastisol prints. Soft-Hand Discharge inks are an underbase for plastisol
inks when printing on dischargeable fabrics. Regular opacity and soft hand plastisols such as Ultrasoft and
Tru-Tone inks can be printed over Soft-Hand Discharge inks, producing bright, soft-hand prints, even on dark
fabrics. Discharge inks cure slower than plastisol. For best results, use a good commercial dryer, 4' minimum.
Applications
• Underbase for plastisol prints on dischargeable fabrics
• Discharges color from dischargeable 100% cotton fabric
• White can be used as underbase or stand-alone
DSPP1003
Features
• Soft-hand underbase
• Enables overprinting of soft hand plastisols
• Plastisols can be overprinted with or without flash curing the underbase
Stencils: Use only water-resistant emulsion or capillary films
Mesh: 156-186 t/in.
Cure: Cure for a minimum of 90 seconds at 320° F to activate the discharge reaction and
produce a washable print. Evaporating the water too quickly will stop the discharge reaction
and result in dull colors.
NOTE: Additional purchase of Discharge Agent (UI-DSPP9ZFS) is necessary to activate
discharge process (see technical data sheet).
